Stellar Marketing Efforts / Thought Leadership

WS+B Voices

  • Cathy Bendall (NB partner) presented a Lorman Education Services webinar on February 13 on the topic of, “Creating Effective Statements of Functional Expenses.”  Very nice!
  • Jim Bourke (RB partner) spoke at the CCH US Sales Team Conference in Orlando, FL, last month on the topic of “Selling into the Top 100 Firms and getting Through the Gatekeeper.”  He also spoke in Tampa that same week at CPA Practice Advisor’s “Top 25 Thought Leaders” event which recognized the cream of the crop within the accounting profession… and of course Jim was among the Top 25!   Congrats, Jim!
  • Karen Henderson (MO manager) and Joseph Marmorato (MO staff I) had their co-authored finance column published in the winter issue of HFMA-NJ’s Garden State Focus magazine on the timely topic, “EIN Holders Required to Provide Updated Information to IRS.”  Terrific team effort!
  • Bill Morrison (PM partner) presented a BVR-sponsored webinar on March 7 entitled, “How to Succeed as a Jointly Retained Expert.”  Great sharing of litigation support expertise!
  • Irv Schwarzbaum (NYC partner) also shared his expertise on fraud and forensics, being quoted in the latest issue of the Commercial Observer, a leading New York real estate publication, in the article, “Crimes Against Accounting: As the commercial real estate market heats up, larcenies may spike.”   Well done, Irv!
  • Barry Horowitz (NYC partner) also made an appearance in the same issue of Commercial Observer, being quoted in the article, “The Rise of the LLC: How a once-obscure entity became ubiquitous in real estate.”  Fantastic!
  • Michelle Morris (MO senior) makes a second appearance in COMMERCE magazine this year, this time being profiled in the publication’s special feature, “Super Bowl XLVIII: reaction to the first NJ/NY Super Bowl,” on page 15.  That’s the spirit!
  • Bernie Leone (NYC partner) spoke at the Greater Middlesex/Somerset Estate Planning Council on March 12, discussing succession planning. Excellent!
  • And last but not least, this article gets another firm-wide acknowledgment (it was mentioned in Monday’s MP Message) because it’s just so great…  Kudos to Christina Fessler (RB manager), Dan Moser (RB senior), Lauren Taguer (RB senior) and Lou Sandor (RB partner) who graced the cover of the feature NJBIZ story, “Why Accounting is Cool,” with Christina, Lauren and also Jim Bourke being quoted throughout.  We’ve been hearing so many nice comments about that article from our industry peers. Just tremendous!
