  • Joan Kampo (Director of Human Resources) presented a Resume Writing Workshop for the attendees of the NJ Society of CPA’s Scholars Institute program held at Montclair University in late May. Terrific!
  • Tony Nitti (Partner and Forbes.com tax columnist) kicked off a 14-date tour around the country from Boston to Denver and many places in between, teaching a national CPE program sponsored by the University of Denver’s Graduate Tax Program.  The first program was June 11; the last is scheduled for mid-January.  Excellent thought leadership!
  • Brad Caruso (Manager) presented at the recent 4th National IDEA User Conference in Chicago on improving efficiency and effectiveness on audits of not-for-profit organizations.  Well done, Brad!
  • Mike Kulick (Senior Manager) and Peggy Gallagher (Senior Manager) presented at the NJSCPA Accounting, Business and Technology show on May 15 on the AICPA’s Financial Reporting Framework for Small and Medium Entities. On that same day, Peggy also presented an A & A update to the NJSCPA Morris and Sussex chapters at The Skylands in Randolph.  Jarrod Rhen (Senior Manager) also gave a separate presentation there on Financial Instruments. Great job!
  • Tony Panico (Partner and Team Leader of WS+B’s Healthcare Reform Advisory Team) presented a PPACA update at the June 2 Annual PICPA NFP conference. He also presented at the MPAC Business Breakfast program in Morristown on June 13 on “Healthcare Reform: Tax Issues Update.”
  • Dave Dacey (Partner and ERISA niche Practice Leader), Diane McNulty (Partner and ERISA niche member) and Sheri Wronko (Senior Manager and ERISA niche member) presented for the CPA Club on ERISA Fiduciary Issues on June 12.  Really great!
  • Rob Crigler (Partner), Barry Shapiro (Partner)and Jennifer Safeer (Senior Manager),all members of the firm’s Healthcare Services Group, presented the niche’s monthly webinar on May 22 on “Surgery Centers: Finance Trends and Updates.”  Karen Henderson (Manager) and Allison Kimowitz (Supervisor)followed up with the June webinar 19, providing an “IRS Not-for-Profit Hospital Tax Update” with over 100 attendees on the call.  Well done, team!
  • Sarah Cirelli (Marketing Manager) was quoted in a recent issue of Accounting Today in “The Struggle To Social Media Sophistication.”  Always on top of her game, she has been busily presenting on Social Media strategy around the state, including a TD Bank-hosted program on May 29 at the Lakewood BlueClaws Conference Center, and the NJBIA conference on “Maximizing Social Media to Grow Your Business” on June 25. Excellent!
  • Tom Reck (Partner) and Randy Paulikens (Partner) of WS+B’s Litigation Support Services group presented at the Inn of Transactional Counsel on the topic of Forensic Accounting and Damages on June 12.  Well done!
  • Rob Lightman (Principal, Director of Business Development) and I presented our “Kick it Up a Notch: Best Practices in Marketing and Networking” program to the staff at Wilentz law firm on June 19.  Please remember to share this as a CLE presentation option to your law firm contacts!
  • Tanina Besecker (Senior Marketing Coordinator) moderated a panel discussion on social media best practices on June 19 for the NJ Community Associations Institute. Very nice!
  • Scott Mariani (Partner and Healthcare Services Group Co-Practice Leader) presented a Healthcare Tax Update at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) National Annual Institute in Las Vegas on June 23, with hundreds of hospital CFOs in attendance.  The program was a great success, with the National HFMA CFO congratulating Scott on a job well done afterwards.  Great job!
  • Ed Mendlowitz (Partner) was published in the June issue of Accounting Today sharing his early experiences working for a manager that did not manage so well in, “Art of Accounting: My Job History.”  Ed also spoke at the Accounting Technology Forum on June 25 in Woodbury, NY on Multimedia Blogging.  Terrific, Ed!
  • Jim Bourke (Partner and Tech Niche Practice Leader) also spoke at Accounting Technology Forum, providing a CPA Firm Technology Update as well as appearing on a Keynote Panel discussing where firms are on the Technology Adoption Curve.  Very nice,Jim!

    • Frank Boutillette (Partner) is taking on the head-honcho role as President-Elect of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA) for a one-year term beginning June 1, 2014.
    • Scott Mariani (Partner and Healthcare Services Group Co-Practice Leader)  was recently elected as Secretary for the Healthcare Financial Management Association’s New Jersey Chapter.
