Marketing + Strategy / Stellar Marketing Efforts / Thought Leadership

WS+B Voices!

  • The NJCPA is busily planning their annual Convention & Expo scheduled for June 10-11-12, and WithumSmith+Brown is very excited to be involved as a sponsor and supporter this year, with great reason.  Our own Frank Boutillette, CPA, Partner, is being installed as the 2015 Chapter President!  Frank’s first President’s Message video was recently premiered; see the link below. Additionally, Withum partner and past NJCPA President, Jim Bourke, has been helping out with the convention teaser videos to help market the event. Take a look:
  • Bill Sansone, Partner and Team Leader of the Law Firms-Professional Services niche, launched and released the firm’s annual NJ Top 50 Law Firms survey this Spring. The results can be seen on com and on our social media channels.  Niche Senior Marketing Coordinator Karen Coviello pushed out the results to the media, garnering coverage in NJBIZ and the Bergen Dispatch.  Excellent thought leadership!
  • Litigation Support Services Partners and Team Leaders Bill Morrison and Randy Paulikens presented on “Overcoming Legal & Valuation Issues in Family & Chancery Proceedings” at an ICLE seminar on April 25 at the NJ Law Center in New Brunswick. Great team work!
  • Kevin Margiatto, Senior Manager and Not-for-Profit Services Group member, presented “OMB Circular Update and Guidance” to the Philadelphia Non-Profit Finance Group on April 22. Nice job!
  • Ed Mendlowitz, Partner and Partners’ Network Founder, presented to the NYSSCPA Accounting and Review Services Committee on “Going Beyond the Checklists to Add Value to Your Client’s Business” on April 22.  He was also published this month on AccountingToday.com with his words of advice, “Art of Accounting: Wasted Lunch Hour.” Always interesting, Ed!
  • I had the pleasure of co-presenting with Sarah Cirelli, Marketing Manager, at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) NJ Chapter’s annual Women’s Education Session on April 16, sharing our best practices and tips on “Social Media Trends and Practical Applications for Career Development.”  Sarah was also a panelist at the Withum-hosted Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals event on April 30 discussing “Building Your Brand through Social Media.”  Danielle Atkinson, Senior Marketing Coordinator and active member of MCC’s marketing committee, organized the well-attended event held at Withum’s NYC office.  Great job!
  • Noel Capuano, Senior Manager and active member of the firm’s Litigation Support Services team, moderated a panel discussion on “Women in Business” for TCNJ School of Business on April 15. She is also speaking on a panel at the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) conference today on “What Tax Returns Can Tell You.”  Excellent!
  • Tony Nitti, Tax Partner and com columnist, was quoted in the April 10 Bloomberg.com story, “Obamas Pay 19.6% Income Tax Rate in 2014 as Earnings Decline.” Terrific!
  • And finally, Tony Nitti, Jim Bourke and Ed Mendlowitz all received endearing accolades in the AccountingToday.com story, “Withum Rules (Or why they’re my favorite big firm)” by Jody Padar, CPA, CEO and Principal at New Vision CPA Group and author of The Radical CPA.  She shares her thoughts on how these special partners have “genuine, unique personalities who always seem willing to help smaller firms and the profession as whole.”  Really nice, guys!!
  • Tom Walsh, Partner-in-Charge of our Boston office, was recently elected to the Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) Board of Directors. Very nice!
  • Ed O’Connell, Partner, was appointed to a two-year term of the Board of Directors of the Global Lyme Alliance, following the merger of the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance and the Lyme Research Alliance.  The Global Lyme Alliance is the largest organization in the nation focused on conquering Lyme and tick-borne diseases.  Excellent!
  • Congrats to Theresa Richardson, Partner and Raritan Valley Community College Alumni, who is this year’s recipient of the 2015 RVCC Distinguished Alumni Award for her outstanding achievements in career and community. She will receive the award at the Academic Awards Dinner held on May 13.   Well done!
  • Sarah Cirelli, Marketing Manager, is the recipient of the inaugural “Jersey’s Best Marketing and Communications Professionals under 40” award, presented by the NJ Ad Club and Jersey Shore Public Relations & Advertising Associaton (JSPRAA). She will receive the award at the upcoming event dinner on May 14.  Congrats, Sarah!
  • And I would be remiss if I didn’t share a ‘shout out’ to Richard Serluco, Partner, who celebrated the completion of his 50th tax season this year.  You can read all about it on Withum.com, with Mr. Serluco sharing his thoughts about this tremendous milestone.
