  • Michael Yarrow, Senior Manager and ERISA niche member, presented at the PICPA Employee Benefits Plan Conference on May 4, covering the topics of auditing investments in a full scope audit and an update of recent topics related to 11k audits. Terrific!
  • Howard Krieger, Senior Manager and Valuation Specialist, presented at the Greater Washington Society of CPA’s Employee Benefit Plan Conference on May 5 on “Plan Asset Valuation Considerations.” His was the only topic covering plan asset valuation, giving Withum the opportunity to increase brand awareness around its portfolio and alternative investment valuation services. Nice job!
  • Nina Chmura, Senior Manager, was the keynote speaker at the CoreNet NJ Women’s Special Interest Group program, “Team Dynamics and Leadership Challenges: A Lesson in Collaboration, Innovation and Creativity.” The event was held at the Morris Museum in Morristown on May 7. Wow!
  • Dave Dacey, Partner and ERISA niche Practice Leader, co-presented a session at the May 7 NJCPA Employee Benefit Plans Conference on “Fiduciary Developments for 2015 Plan Audits” with Dave Hudak from Portfolio Evaluations. Really great!
  • ERISA niche members Sheri Wronko, Senior Manager, and Julia Van Saun, Supervisor, presented the “Employee Benefit Plan Accounting and Auditor Update” at the NJCPA Essex County Chapter Pension Update on May 8. Excellent!
  • Ted Nappi, Partner and Co-Leader of the Wealth Management Services Group, provided an Estate & Trust Update at the NJSBA Annual Meeting & Convention in A.C. on May 14. Well done!
  • Josh Horowitz, Staff II, Alex Fishbane, Senior, and Harris Solis, Supervisor, presented “Business Best Practices for Creatives” at FilmShop Labs’ annual filmmaking symposium on May 16. Great team work with target marketing!
  • Ed Mendlowitz, Partner and Partners’ Network Founder, was published on cpa2biz.com on April 20 with his article, Postmortem on Tax Season. He also presented at the Paramus Public Library on May 19 to 80 library volunteers that represented 35 public libraries who were interested in forming a Friends charity organization. Very nice!
  • Congratulations to Taryn Bostjancic, Partner, who was honored by the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce on May 19 as one of six outstanding Community Leaders of Distinction from the Central Jersey business community. Well done and well deserved!
  •  Congrats to “Professor” Tom Basilo, Partner, who recently received the Seton Hall University Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award for the 5th straight year in a row. What a tremendous accomplishment, Tom! Kudos!
