Withum’s Manufacturing, Distribution & Logistics Services Group hosted their 4th annual Industry Golf Outing on June 23rd at Raritan Valley Country Club. While the forecast called for showers, the group ended up enjoying a beautiful afternoon of outstanding golf and sparkling conversation. Our guests included management from BASF, Boston Therapeutics, Breeze Eastern, Colavita USA, Eisai Pharma, Halo Pharmaceutical, Lifetime Brands and Merck.

The event was highlighted by keynote speaker Ron Insana, a seasoned financial market veteran with rather impressive credentials: a national contributor to NBC, CNBC and MSNBC, host of The Market Scoreboard Report and alum of the Financial News Network. Ron was named one of the “Top 100 Business News Journalists of the 20th Century” and was nominated for a news and documentary Emmy for his role in NBC’s coverage of the 9/11 attacks. He is also the editor of “Insana’s Market Intelligence,” a subscription-based newsletter, and has authored four books on Wall Street.

With over 50 Withum professionals, prospects and clients in attendance, Ron’s presentation (“The Year of Living Dangerously”) addressed topics such as pressing domestic and global economic and financial market issues (including that day’s Brexit vote in the UK), consumer trends and habits (yes, even the Millennials’ need to text) , offshore vs. “in sourced” manufacturing, the upcoming presidential election and the merits of the presumptive candidates and how technology has impacted the global market and our daily lives. Ron drew high marks from all those in attendance and he regaled the crowd with a number of personal anecdotes and war stories from his experiences covering the major events of our global economy.
