Our firm prides itself on being progressive in terms of culture and initiatives which help cultivate and nurture our talented pool of professionals. One of the many great programs we offer is the Women’s Leadership Development Initiative (WLDI), whose mission is to attract, retain and advance women leaders within the firm. This initiative has been successful in helping guide many of our female professionals up through the ranks, reaching the Partner and Director levels. I am happy to share that two of our female professionals are being honored for their efforts:
The NJCPA’s New Jersey CPA magazine will be including a special section in its September/October 2016 issue: The NJCPA “Women of Note” – women who are making a name for themselves in the New Jersey accounting landscape and beyond. After receiving many deserving nominations, those chosen displayed a unique combination of NJCPA participation, accounting profession involvement and community service dedication. I am happy to share that two Withum team members will be a part of this prestigious list: Peggy Gallagher, CPA, Senior Manager and Jessica Offer, CPA, Senior Manager.
Peggy has over 25 years of accounting and auditing experience with a focus on interpreting and applying technical accounting and auditing standards, and independence matters. A seasoned speaker, Peggy develops and presents accounting and auditing education classes and webinars for national & state audiences, and has authored articles on technical accounting topics appearing in professional publications, various websites, and FASB comment letters on proposed accounting standards. She is a board member of Board Member, partner and mentor with the Student/Partner Alliance, an organization supporting inner-city high school students.
Jessica is an audit manager with eight years of public accounting experience. She has taken a leadership role in our firm as a member of the Withum Fellowship Training Program, to which she applies her effective teaching skills and shares her extensive knowledge and experiences with others. She has been recognized for her steadfast focus on her clients, being nominated for our firm’s Client Service Strength Award in 2014. Active in her community, she participates annually in the Purple Strides Walk for Pancreatic Cancer and various other cancer-related fundraising events.
Please join me in congratulating these phenomenal professionals! We couldn’t be more proud.
