I’d like to continue expanding upon the ten traits described in the Withum Way, all of which define our culture and the behaviors which best exemplify our people. Today we will cover point three:
3. Welcome Innovation and Change. Whether a new technology or a new way of doing things, Withum team members are flexible and open to embracing changes without missing a beat.
As a firm, we encourage ‘innovation” in order to grow and remain competitive. The leading public accounting firms recognize the value of creativity because fresh thinking and the ability to develop new solutions are essential in today’s marketplace. But let’s be honest… being original and creative in your usual way of thinking can be a challenge when you are so busy just getting things done. Being truly innovative requires time specifically set aside to identify and understand which problems exists, and then taking the time to create and apply the solutions for resolving the issue.
To address the need to be innovative, Withum has formed its own Innovation Council, comprised of a mix of tax, audit and consulting professionals of different levels from around the firm. Their objective is to meet regularly to discuss the challenges we face in a rapidly changing environment, and to brainstorm ideas to implement positive change, ensuring innovation-related activities are strategically aligned and coordinated, and are supported by appropriate processes and resources available within the firm. Members include:
- Meg Watson, Team Leader, Advisory Services
- Jarrod Rhen, Senior Manager
- Shawn Gillon, Senior Manager
- Josh Davis, Manager
- Darko Naumoski, Manager
- Josh Horowitz, Supervisor
- Matt Walsh, Supervisor
- Solomon Feraidoon, Senior
- Noah Hicks, Staff II
We look forward to hearing from the Innovation Council in future communications with ideas on how to make the firm better, stronger, faster and more profitable. As our purpose is to be the catalyst for growth and success, we are optimistic that this creative group of professionals will help guide us to new horizons. Remember, making innovation a part of our culture will garner lasting results in greater client satisfaction, stronger staff morale and a healthier bottom line.
